Diana Ntongiri was born in Katheri Meru as a last born in a family of five. She joined St Teresa Katheri for her primary education and later Gikomene Girls’ High School for her secondary education. While in primary school, she could sing any song whether secular or gospel provided she was conversant with it.

After her O level, she enrolled for a teaching course in a nearby college. During the weekends, she used to work in a three star hotel in Meru. After the course, she found out that she could not pursue this career since the music talent was burning in her. She decided to try everything in her ability so as to pursue her talent. It is in this process that she got some connections with the Ogopa DJs who played the instruments without vocals.

During the time, she engaged in a business of selling shoes which earned her daily bread.  She also targeted to save some money for recording from this business but this proved to be far beyond achievement. After struggling with life for a long time, she decided to search for greener pastures elsewhere.

She moved to Mombasa in hope for a better life. Right away from the beginning she had a vision pertaining to this city and so she did not need anybody to direct her. At the beginning she had a vision pertaining to this city and so she did not need anybody to direct her. She went ahead and rented a single room but life did not seem any better as she was sleeping on the floor without a mattress. After looking for a job without any success, she decided to start a juice parlour and the outcome was quite good as she could earn Sh. 200 per day. Music talent was still very alive in her but she had not yet received salvation.

She landed a job in a club with a band which had a vacancy for a lady. She left her business and joined this band full time. After a short while, a certain man approached her and tried to convince her that she was supposed to be somewhere in church. She totally ignored this voice as she felt quite uncomfortable with the mention of the word God. She was a drug addict and she considered herself very far away from God and even reaching out to Him was something next to impossible.

On night, she saw a vision where a group of gospel singers and secular musicians had gathered in her house. She was directed to join the gospel group and this really disturbed her for a long time. After a short while, she saw yet another vision. There was full light in her house but on the other hand, her parents’ house was full of darkness and she was supposed to remove them from this darkness. This vision really disturbed her and she decided to seek for interpretation. She was directed to a certain church and to her surprise, the pastor had also seen her in a vision.

This was a great day in her life as her life was turned around for the better. She henceforth became a child of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. From there, she really started seeking God with all her heart and her music ministry changed. The devil was not happy with this turn of events and he struck her with a disease. Her whole body was filled with wounds and she decided to seek medical attention. People started saying that she was suffering from AIDS and this really affected her health.

After a while, God intervened in her situation and she was totally healed to the shame of her enemies. After her recovery, she started recording the songs that she had written. Her first album was Rabi meaning that Jesus had healed her and Tulia, which encourages people to wait upon the Lord. The outcome was not that good but to her, she felt comfortable with it. During this time, she was directed to Prince Cam Media through a vision. She did not have even the faintest idea of its whereabouts but she decided to look out for it.

On getting the director, he advised her that the audio in her music was not of good quality and he directed her to Dede records. She did the re-recording and the outcome was quite satisfactory. She thanks God for having brought her this far. May his name be glorified.

Check out for Ntongiri’s original album and you will be blessed.
