Taking The Right Steps Towards Success

Life is unfair, it is hard, this are the words that you will hear in almost 90% of the people you will engage them in conversation about life. We no longer see life in terms of joy and laughters which our great grandparents fought for called, “Freedom”.

They fought for freedom because they had big dreams which they were not given room to implement or execute. They choose to die only to have their children’s free to think and execute their dreams, free to invest everywhere in the world without any barriers, free to marry the one you love, free to worship and freedom to express your thoughts.

The decision they made to lose even their life for the sake of their children and their children’s children freedom shows their strength, loyalty, teamwork, hardworking, believe and integrity.

Our grandfathers fought for freedom and they gained it. We now have the freedom physically but captives of our own past mistakes. Our grandparents had mental freedom but no physical freedom. Today we have physical freedom but lost mental freedom. We have all the freedom but what are we doing with it? Today you find someone entering into the supermarket buy more food that can last him/her for a month but buy nothing to upgrade and sharpen his mind that have helped him/her earn what he/she is making now.

The body are celebrating to the fullest for it is fed with best foods, covered with the best clothes, but our mind and soul are starving. The hunger which no food can satisfy; thirsty which no water can quench it. Our minds have very little to cope with what is happening daily. We forget that a room without books is like a body without a soul. We have lost self discipline, self mastery or control. We just saw what happened to late Samuel Wanjiru, Kenya highest earning marathoner with a presence fee of Kshs 21,000,000 (twenty million) meaning even if he don’t win the race, just by being present in the truck he was paid.

Show me a poor man and I will show you a  man who wishes all day to have riches but do nothing to achieve his wishes, he still waits for a day when he will wake up rich and enjoy yet taking no action but consuming everything he get. Show me a poor Christian and I will show you a person who spends most of his time praying, fellowship, fasting and reading the bible yet taking no action and without clear interpretation of the Bible he reads that he who does not work should not eat and faith without action is dead.

He hopes to be so rich and have great faith that one day he will be rich and inherit from the father who owns all but does nothing. Wishes will never bring riches but only commitment, determination, faith, believe in yourself and persistence. What he doesn’t understand is that those who have now more will be given to them as Jesus said and those who don’t have even what they have will be taken away from them. It is not that they don’t have but what they have is so little and their want is so great that they consume all and spare or save nothing to ensure to them that Tomorrow will be better than today if they sacrifice the little they have earned today and add to what they earned yesterday and invest. They hate risking for they don’t know the secret in investing is that if you risk and win you will be happy for your money will compound and if you lose you will be wise than before and compound in knowledge. The opposite is true.

Show me an honest rich man and I will show you a person who does all these things, he wishes to be rich, desires to be very rich, believes he will be very rich, reads the word of God, prays, fast, hope but above all this he adds actions. He translates his believe into actions, he sees what he can do today which will make him closer to achieve his dream. He sees the single action which he can afford and immediately take it and does it. He writes clearly on a paper or a notebook who he aspires to be, carries every action he can be able to take without thinking like what most poor people do. They think of Capital first and that’s why there is no one to provide for them. Unless you show people what you can do no one will be willing to support you; only your family members or friends which are rare and also very dangerous sometimes for it becomes a song every time they are in need and you say you don’t have money to support them.

I will leave you with this quote that, “It is better to be ready for an opportunity and not have one than to have an opportunity and you are not ready for it.”
